COMMON MISTAKES IN FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY
The main element not in focus- Never forget the key element in your photograph in order to make this right, use composition and lighting to highlight the hero of your photograph. The hero of the photograph doesn’t need to be in the center of the frame, but it should be in focus. You should be able to guide the eye of the audience to the main element. Use the right props to point to the subject or use lighting techniques to highlight it.
2) No clear Narrative- All good food images should tell a story.
3) Incorrect Lighting styles- Using front light to photography your food. This results in a flat image. Side lighting and backlighting work the best with food photography. You can use a combination of hard and soft light.
4) Shallow depth of field- This doesn’t work when you want to tell a story. The best depth of field depends on the size of your subject and the message you are trying to convey.
5) Unnecessary distractions- Try to avoid crowding your photographs with elements that are avoidable.
6) Not shooting tethered- One of the biggest advantages of shooting tethered is that you get to save a lot of your time and you can rest assured that your food is in focus.
Great tips..thanks a lot!
