Food Distribution Campaign

FOOD DISTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN

Day before yesterday. I covered a food distribution campaign in Nithari village. I noticed long queues and much stress. People appeared suspicious of every activity, and there was hardly any social distancing. Social distancing probably was not a priority. Their main aim was to meet basic needs of their families. Standing for hours in such heat was the least of their concerns. It was a picture of chaos and confusion. People without proper documents feared they may not get rations.

What came to my mind immediately was whether people are really getting any help as shown on TV, Social Media etc.

I think we need to organise things better to ensure people don’t starve. After all we are a democracy- why should millions suffer while the rich sit comfortably.
